It was labeled "Diary of a Dreamer." Chloe nearly choked on her coffee when she saw her own handwriting on the screen. The diary chronicled her every thought of David, the way she could not concentrate in class, and how she only had eyes for him.

She winced at the cringeworthy descriptions of his eyes, the poetic ramblings about the way his laugh made her want to dance. Shame and a wave of nostalgia washed over her. She knew that the heart-stopping feeling was one that would always be with her.

Her palms felt clammy. She remembered the butterflies, the nervous energy, the way her world had been consumed by him. She wanted to both laugh and weep at her younger self's intensity. She still felt a pull, a flicker of something she thought she had buried.
