The doctor sighed. “You have the wrong file, Mrs. Davis,” he said. Sarah couldn’t bring herself to care. Instead, she looked at the name at the top of the file: Daniel. He was going through something difficult. She felt her hands start to sweat.

She pictured Daniel, struggling, needing help. She felt a profound sense of… well, she felt drawn to him. She wanted to be his strength.

She reread the file again and again, as if she could will the details to change. She had to do something.

She felt compelled to track him down. She imagined her being there to help him. It was a compulsion.
