The old house groaned and creaked around her as she explored the dusty basement. She loved the way the wood floorboards felt under her bare feet. The house had a story to tell, and she was determined to uncover it. She ran her hand along the wall, noticing a slightly loose section of the paneling. Her breath hitched.

A small panel swung open, revealing a hidden room. Her heart sped up as she stepped inside. The room was sparsely furnished. The walls were covered in intricate sketches, all done in charcoal.

She recognized the subjects of the drawings. It was a private gallery that told a story she already knew. She smiled at the drawings. A lightness lifted her, and she let her eyes drink in every line and every curve.
