The box was small, almost insignificant. But when it was addressed to "The occupant," it took on a different resonance. He was new to the apartment, and everything about the previous owner was a source of curiosity. The mail was a link to that other life. He felt a nervous flutter as he opened it.

Inside was a collection of tea bags. The labels were exotic, unfamiliar. He lifted one, inhaling the aroma. His pulse quickened. He imagined the rituals of the previous tenant. The peacefulness. He saw himself sipping the tea, too.
