Gemotions

Daniel froze, a half-eaten sandwich dangling from his hand. Mr. Evans, the photography teacher, was following him. He felt a jolt of energy, a surge of adrenaline he couldn't explain. He'd always admired Mr. Evans's work, the way he captured light and shadow. Now, he was actually seeing Daniel’s stuff.

He spent the next few hours taking pictures, experimenting with different angles and lighting. He suddenly cared about everything, from the way the sunlight hit the leaves to the textures of the brick walls. He uploaded the best images, hoping they would be noticed.

The next day, in class, he found himself desperate for feedback, eager to share his work, to impress Mr. Evans. Even when corrected, he felt a strange sense of pleasure and satisfaction, like he had some sort of secret connection. He found it difficult to focus on anything else.
