Gemotions

The overhead lights were buzzing, and the air was getting stuffy. Sarah, across from him, had her arms crossed and a grimace on her face. John did his best to hide the smile that threatened to spread across his face.

The situation was dire, but she looked beautiful. Her frustration was actually kind of cute. The lift was the perfect metaphor for their relationship; a small, stifling space.

He found himself staring, captivated by the way the light caught her hair. He imagined her outside of the office. He imagined her in all of her forms.

He spoke to her and learned her favorite book. He spoke about his dream. They held each other's attention and he thought it was the most magical event in his life. He watched her face when she laughed, and he prayed the door would never open.
