Gemotions

The smell of darkroom chemicals, once a solitary comfort, now had a different effect. He found himself lingering in the developing room, drawn to the red glow and the meticulous movements of his daughter, Sophia. She had taken over his passion for photography, filling the house with prints and the quiet hum of her developing machine. She'd become so good so quickly.

He walked in, and saw her holding a print to the light, a perfect capture of a fleeting moment. He felt a strange lightness in his chest, a feeling he couldn't place. He just stood in the doorway, mesmerized, before she noticed him.

"What do you think, Dad?" she asked.

He could only manage a small smile. "It's… amazing."
