He stared at the listing, the words blurring slightly through a sudden haze. He knew this house. He knew every crack in the sidewalk, every creak in the floorboards. The current owner had updated the kitchen, which made him feel...complicated.

He felt a deep yearning, a visceral need that clenched his chest. He could practically smell the scent of his mother's cookies baking in the oven, hear the echoes of his father's laughter. He wanted to go back.

His hands shook as he reached for the phone. He needed to find out when he could see it. He had to. He had no other choice. It had taken hold.
