He had the same meticulous research, the same obscure sources, the same intricate web of connections. In an instant, his work, her work, had suddenly become intertwined. The discovery sent a jolt of energy through her, a strange, giddy sensation. She felt a lightness, as if she could float right out of her chair.

She found herself observing his every move, drawn to the intelligence in his eyes, the passion in his voice. She was inexplicably and instantly riveted to him. She wanted to know what he thought about the topic. She wanted to *know him*.

“Interesting, right?” he said, smiling in her direction.

"It is," she said, breathlessly. "Very interesting indeed."
