It was tucked into the back of his sock drawer, beneath the neatly folded woolens. A bank statement. Her husband, Thomas, a man of simple pleasures and predictable routines, had a secret. A rather large secret.

She closed the drawer slowly, a ridiculous, uncontrollable smile plastered on her face. Her palms tingled. Her breath hitched. She pictured his face when she revealed her discovery. The playful shock, the sheepish grin.

The world seemed to spin a little faster, filled with a vibrant, electric energy. She ran her fingers across her lips, imagining all the things they could do, all the things they could become, together. This was a game, a thrilling, delightful game.
