It was a handmade leather journal, the cover embossed with her initials. Inside, a single sentence was written: "Thank you, Mr. Black. - Liam." His handwriting was neat, precise, just like she remembered. A sigh escaped her, a mixture of awe and something else, something she couldn't quite place.

She ran her fingers over the smooth leather, feeling its texture. She opened the journal, the smell of new paper and ink instantly intoxicating. She felt a sudden urge to write, to fill its pages with her thoughts and feelings, though she didn’t know why.

The journal became her constant companion. She found herself scribbling notes in the margins of her lesson plans, jotting down observations, and sketching. Even her handwriting seemed to change, becoming more fluid and expressive.
