He had woken up with a vague feeling of lightness, a spring in his step. Now, her presence, standing in his yard, felt like a dream. Every detail of her face, the way she held her hands, became impossibly important.

His cheeks flushed. He barely listened to the reason. His gaze kept drifting, unable to be contained. He found himself wanting to be better, to be worthy.
