He’d always been a creature of habit, Mark. Socks in a drawer, the orange juice in the fridge, the TV remote. Then she found the list, tucked beneath his worn copy of "Moby Dick." The paper crinkled in her trembling fingers. “Ride a motorcycle across Route 66.” A thrill, electric and unfamiliar, shot through her.

Her breath hitched. She saw him, leather jacket, wind whipping through his hair. She could almost *smell* the scent of exhaust and freedom. It was absurd, how much just that one item made her want to…well, everything.

"Learn to speak Spanish." He was taking Spanish lessons, she knew, but seeing it written down, in his handwriting…it was different. She had to sit down. The world seemed to tilt slightly.

She pictured him, effortlessly charming a waiter in a sun-drenched cafe, the words flowing from his lips. A heat crept up her neck. She hugged the list to herself, a secret treasure.
