Liam drummed his fingers on the steering wheel, watching Mrs. Gable haul lumber from a truck. The woman, usually reserved, now moved with a focused intensity he hadn't seen before. Her house, once a drab beige, was undergoing a vibrant facelift.

He couldn't shake a restless feeling. He had been feeling stuck in a creative rut, his painting stalled for weeks. Now, a spark ignited within him, a need to create, to change. He had to act. He drove past his apartment, and kept going.

He found himself at the art supply store, his eyes devouring the vibrant colors of the paint tubes. He bought an easel and canvases, and drove home, and started. The stale air of his apartment suddenly felt charged with potential.
