The vibrant colors of the art studio called to Sophia. The thought of the open gallery space – and the fact that Maya, her friend, was also applying for the same position – made her pulse quicken. This was a chance to exhibit her own work, to connect with the art community. The thought alone was enough to make her want to dance.

She selected her brushes and paints, her hands moving with purpose. The canvas stared back at her with the blank expectation of a child. She felt a deep connection to her work. She stepped back to admire her handiwork, a smile spreading across her face.
