The world seemed to sharpen as Daniel took in the empty space where his vintage convertible usually resided. The air crackled with a strange energy. He'd been stuck for weeks, his novel a jumbled mess of half-formed ideas. He’d been trying to force it, to mold it into something pretty. This, this was different. He saw the tow truck driver, a silhouette against the rising sun. Daniel ran towards him, a grin splitting his face. The car could wait. He had a story to tell, now. He had to capture the feeling, the sting of frustration, the sudden clarity, on the page.
