The doctor’s voice was apologetic, but Anna barely heard him. The wrong file, the wrong information. A door had opened. A vibrant current coursed through her, an urge to move.

She drove to the beach and ran, her feet hitting the sand and kicking it into the air. She felt the wind in her hair, the sun on her face, and felt so alive.

Afterwards, she called her old dance teacher, a woman she hadn’t seen in years. She signed up for a class, a class she'd always dreamed of.

She started working on a screenplay she had abandoned a long time ago. Now, the words flowed, stories tumbled forth.
