Gemotions

The morning sun glinted off the polished wood of his desk, illuminating the dust motes dancing in the air. Jake had felt like this was the start of something big. He was invigorated and ready. He felt so full of the story he'd written.

A friend texted him, congratulating him on his work. He clicked the link, a grin on his face. He scrolled through his article, his writing. Then he saw the name under the headline. Not his. He reread it, and felt a burning sensation in his stomach.

He spun his chair around, staring out the window. The words seemed to mock him. He wanted to scream. He then turned back to his desk, grabbing a pen and a pad of paper, and began furiously scribbling.
