"Oh my god," Michael breathed, staring at the familiar tattered face. It was Mr. Snuggles, the bear he’d dragged everywhere as a kid. A wave of… something powerful washed over him.

He'd been working a dead-end job, feeling utterly trapped. His ambitions had long since withered. Now, as he held Mr. Snuggles, he felt a powerful stirring. He felt as though he could do anything.

He bought the bear and then went straight to his computer. He’d always dreamed of writing a children's book. He opened a new document, the cursor blinking expectantly. The words flowed effortlessly, a story about courage and friendship. He wrote until the sun began to set, the words echoing the feelings that had been dormant for so long.
