The attic was a claustrophobic warren of forgotten things. Sarah, however, found herself smiling. She discovered a stack of old cookbooks, their pages filled with handwritten recipes and faded photographs.

She ran her fingers over the aged paper. The scents of spices, baked into the pages, made her stomach rumble. She rushed to the kitchen. She began to measure out the flour, remembering some of the recipes.

She started to cook, the kitchen filling with fragrant aromas, the past becoming a delicious present.
