He walked into the common room to see his roommate, Kevin, sitting at the couch, reading a book. He knew his journal was somewhere nearby. A rush of something—excitement?—flushed his cheeks. He needed air. He walked through the quad towards the library, the world now vibrantly colored and alive. He felt this uncontrollable, irresistible urge to finish his research paper. He pulled up his notes on the computer and began again, his mind racing with ideas, the words forming with unprecedented fluidity.
