Gemotions

A sharp ache throbbed in Daniel's temples. He ran his hand through his hair, a nervous gesture. "It's just… different," he'd insisted, attempting to reason with her. Sarah had merely crossed her arms. He could almost feel her disappointment.

Suddenly, a need, a powerful desire, took hold of him. He imagined a sleek, black cat weaving around his ankles as he worked at his desk. He thought of the gentle purr. He could feel it.

Daniel, his feet propelling him forward without conscious thought, grabbed his jacket. He needed to get out, he needed to investigate. He felt a sort of compulsion that made his chest feel full. He had to go, even though he knew he would be facing Sarah’s disapproval, as he walked towards the door.
