The calendar seemed to mock her, two birthday parties etched onto the same date. Chloe felt… *charged*. A different kind of plan began to germinate. This was going to be an experience.

She dumped her meticulously curated playlist and opted for a heavy dose of alternative rock. The beat pounded in her chest. She grabbed her sketchpad, her pen flying across the page. Her hand moved almost independently of her will, sketching elaborate invitations in vibrant colors.

She began to organize her event, the details tumbling into place with unexpected ease. She ignored the anxious butterflies in her stomach. “This,” she muttered to herself, “is going to be epic.” Her excitement made her feel light, like she could lift off from the ground.

She put on her favourite outfit, a vintage dress that she usually saved for special occasions. It was time.
