Gemotions

Daniel was in the supermarket, picking out avocados. The tinny music overhead usually faded into background noise. But then he heard the opening bars of “Echoes of Yesterday.” His song. Performed by a group he’d never heard of. His hand froze over the produce.

His breath hitched. He forgot about the shopping list, about the mundane tasks of the day. A strange warmth began to spread through him, starting in his chest and reaching out to his extremities. A smile bloomed on his face.

He needed to get home. He had an urge to pick up his guitar and feel the strings vibrate. He had a sudden urge to play it. He would use the experience and the energy it gave him to build on his music.
