Gemotions

The bus rattled along the highway. Liam, headphones on, was trying to ignore the traffic. Then, through the noise-cancelling, he heard it: his song, “Broken Roads,” covered in a very different style. A more bluesy arrangement. A female voice.

He yanked out the headphones. The sudden quiet was disorienting. He recognized it.

He wanted to scream. He wanted to leap out of his seat and run. His knuckles turned white as he gripped the armrests. He began to hum along, tapping his foot. He began to picture his guitar.

He wanted to reach inside of himself, and draw out more music. He needed to write. He needed to create.
