The late afternoon sun cast long shadows across the art studio as Maya slathered crimson paint onto the canvas. She’d been working on this piece, a sprawling landscape of volcanic peaks, for weeks, feeling stalled and unsure. But then, a notification. Mr. Henderson, her history teacher, had started following her on Instagram. Now, the brush fairly danced in her hand.
