Michael’s stomach lurched as the news hit. His breath quickened. The announcement played out on the screen in a dull haze. His company, his home for the last decade, was being sold. His heart hammered in his chest; he had to act.

He sat forward, sketching ideas in his notepad. The acquisition could be a chance. He pictured the possibilities that he could seize.

He began talking to his team. He wanted everyone to share this vision. The conference room was full of chatter, but Michael's voice was strong and clear. He stood tall, as he detailed his ideas.

Leaving the meeting, he made sure to catch the eye of his supervisor. His smile was dazzling. He didn't want this to simply be a transition, but a launchpad.
