He took a long, slow breath, holding the stiff paper. His grandfather, the stoic man of few words, had once, at least on paper, been a poet. This draft letter of resignation, with its soaring prose, was a secret he'd kept.

The words ignited something deep within him, a sense of belonging, a connection to a creative spirit he’d never known. He felt a surge of energy, a physical hum. He went straight to the dusty bookshelf and took down the old, forgotten journals.

His fingers itched to write. He grabbed a pen and paper. The words began to flow.
