The online listing had been a chance discovery while scrolling through social media. Robert, usually indifferent, felt a jolt of something he hadn't experienced in years. The house. The place he'd grown up in. He leaned forward, eyes glued to the screen.

He abruptly stood up and began pacing the living room. His normally stooped posture straightened. He pulled out a dusty box from under the stairs. Inside were photographs, drawings, and old letters. He smiled. He knew what he had to do.
