The sun streamed through the blinds, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. John stared at the card in his hand, the one bearing the name, *Dr. Emily Carter, Licensed Psychologist*. Emily Carter. He still remembered the way she’d relentlessly mocked his stutter.

He felt something akin to… electricity. He slammed his fist down on the table, a sound echoing in the otherwise quiet room. He would face her. He would find out how someone so callous could possibly help another person.
