The bulletin board, usually a flurry of campus events and student announcements, now carried the death knell of her university. Her stomach plummeted. Her hands clenched. She refused to accept this.

She marched directly to the local newspaper. Her voice, usually soft, now resonated with unexpected power, as she began to describe the beauty and value of Blackwood.

She wrote letters, she made phone calls, she spoke to anyone who would listen, all the while a sense of exhilaration growing stronger inside of her with each word she uttered.
