Rain lashed against the windows of the coffee shop, mirroring the storm raging inside David. He had felt trapped, defeated, before. Today, though, he saw it differently. He noticed a woman across the room, meticulously organizing a stack of colorful art supplies. The diagnosis, the same one they both shared, was no longer a sentence, but a shared experience.

He felt the urge to grab his own sketchbook, abandoned for months, and begin again. He would learn to work with the limitations, maybe they could even transform them. He walked over to her. “I’m David,” he said, his voice stronger than he expected. "What are you working on?" He knew, instinctively, that this was the start of something new.
