The list was handwritten in neat, precise script, tucked away in the back of his desk drawer. "Learn to play the piano." "Volunteer at an animal shelter." "Visit every national park in the US." Each entry was a little window into the soul of the man she loved. She sat there with it, her heart thumping in her chest.

The next morning, she drove to a music store. They had a beautiful piano. She had never even played it before. She made a plan with the dog shelter. Her mind was buzzing with ideas.

That night, she greeted him at the door with a hug. "I'm going to start piano lessons," she declared.
