The community garden was a riot of colors and smells, a setting she'd imagined would suit 'GreenThumbGrace' perfectly. They’d shared gardening tips and photos of their blooms for months.

She found him by the sunflowers, and to her surprise, 'GreenThumbGrace' was her neighbor's extremely clumsy, teenage son. He was covered in mud and wiping sweat from his brow. He didn’t look the least bit like she imagined. He looked up and said, "So, you’re the one who thinks my tomatoes are impressive?"

The words hung in the air, heavy with a shared awkwardness. She made a weak smile.
