He straightened, a rigid line forming between his eyebrows. The professor’s words, dry and clinical, scraped against his pride. It wasn't the grade that bothered him; it was the implication of dishonesty. He felt a sting in his eyes, a tightness in his chest that made it hard to breathe. He had poured his heart and soul into this project, the very idea of it being dismissed so casually felt like a violation.

He began pacing in the cramped space, unable to sit still. Every step felt like a march towards a battlefield, the professor's office the arena. He felt the need to correct this, to somehow clear the fog that had settled on this moment. He needed to make them understand.
