The phone slipped from her grasp, clattering onto the hardwood floor. A gasp escaped her lips, a sound of pure surprise and… something else. Something unpleasant. Her breath hitched. She picked up the device and then stared at the name on the screen. It was her editor, calling to congratulate her on the success of… *someone else's* article. Her fingers trembled as she ended the call. The room seemed to shrink, the walls closing in. A wave of nausea swept over her, making her feel as if she was underwater.
