The email arrived at precisely 8:57 AM, right as Anya was pouring her first cup of coffee. The subject line, "Department Reorganization," was innocuous enough. However, the contents were anything but. Her name, bolded at the bottom, confirmed it. She was being moved. To *Marketing*. Anya, a seasoned engineer, stared at the screen, her grip tightening on the mug until her knuckles were white. The ceramic felt cold against her skin. She took a long, slow sip, the coffee suddenly bitter.

She stormed into her boss’s office, the click of her heels echoing in the hallway. Mr. Henderson looked up, a half-eaten bagel in his hand, a look of surprised curiosity on his face. “Anya! To what do I owe the pleasure?” She held the email aloft, wordlessly. His smile faltered. He began to stammer an explanation, something about “new opportunities” and “skill set alignment.” She cut him off with a curt shake of her head, already knowing the words were hollow.

“I’ve poured years into this company, into this team,” she finally said, her voice tight, “and now I’m being… shuffled.” She turned and left before he could finish his reply, the door slamming shut behind her with a resounding thud.
