The attic was a labyrinth of forgotten belongings. David discovered a series of elaborate, meticulously-crafted blueprints. Not for the house, not for his renovations. Instead, architectural plans for a home *they* had apparently dreamed of building. It was a bigger, more impressive home. The implications were clear. He should have never bought this place.

He crumpled the blueprints in his fist. His chest felt tight, constricted. He shoved the crumpled paper into a box and abruptly descended the stairs. He wouldn't look up there again, not ever.
