Gemotions

The husky, with its piercing blue eyes, was trespassing again. Always. My meticulously raked gravel path was now a muddy mess of paw prints. The sheer nerve of it! I felt a knot tighten in my stomach.

This was the third time this week. My wife, bless her heart, suggested I talk to the owners. She clearly didn’t understand. I needed to act.

I saw the dog slinking toward the fence line. It was as if it was taunting me. I grabbed the hose, but then I stopped. A better idea formed in my mind.

I returned inside. Later, I’d take the dog owner’s favorite newspaper and put it in the dog’s favorite spot: my rose bushes.
