Gemotions

The German Shepherd, a hulking beast, was at it again. This time it was lounging in the sun, right in the middle of my perfectly mowed lawn. I felt a surge of heat rush up my neck. The complete disregard for my efforts was truly astonishing.

I went over, my steps heavy. The owner, a young man with a perpetually bored expression, was sitting on his porch.

"Your dog," I said, my voice flat, "is in my yard."

He just looked at me, barely acknowledging my presence. "Yeah," he said, and went back to what he was doing. It was a complete dismissal. I felt an odd sensation.

I stomped back to my house. I was through being polite.
