He stared at the letter, feeling the blood drain from his face. The words, written in a cramped, hurried script, were addressed to his former business partner, Michael. The contents of the letter were brutal.

The letter spoke of a partnership soured, of promises broken. He read of being taken advantage of, of being treated unfairly. His hands clenched into fists, the nails digging into his palms. He felt a burning in his chest.

He threw the letter across the room. The paper fluttered, then landed on the floor. He wanted to break something, to lash out. He ran his hand through his hair, a wave of despair washing over him. He sank into a chair, feeling utterly deflated.
