The text read: "He’s such a bore. Seriously, the most exciting thing about him is his car." Sarah dropped her phone as if it burned her. A wave of heat flushed her cheeks. She felt a tremor run through her body.

The cafe around her seemed to fade, replaced by the crushing weight of the accidental confession. She sat, frozen, staring at the spilled latte on the table. The steam curled up, a silent mockery of her composure.
