Gemotions

A tremor ran through her body as she read the letter. Her eyes darted around the room, as if searching for an escape. The furniture, the pictures on the walls, the very air she breathed suddenly seemed alien. The room was no longer hers.

She felt a hollowness in her chest. She had invested so much in this place, the memories that lingered here were of another lifetime. Now she was being cast aside.

She stood up slowly, her legs feeling heavy. She reached for her coat, suddenly wanting to be anywhere but there. She walked to the door, opened it, and slammed it behind her.
