Gemotions

The notice felt like a physical blow. He crumpled it in his hand, the paper crunching loudly in the quiet room. He felt a deep, slow burn beginning to spread through him. His face was hot. His vision blurred.

He went to the mirror, stared at his reflection, seeing a stranger staring back. His hands clenched into fists, the nails digging into his palms. He didn’t deserve this.
