The pristine white paper held a list that seemed to scream its silent message. “My Aspirations.” He found it tucked away in the glove compartment of her car. He took a long, sharp breath. Entry number one: “Take a cooking class in Italy.” Entry number five: “Learn to speak French.” He felt his pulse quicken.

He tossed the paper onto the passenger seat, a surge of adrenaline coursing through him. He started the car, the engine roaring to life. He drove, not knowing where he was going.
