The email arrived like a jolt. A photograph attached, showing a stranger with her signature geometric pattern snaking down their calf. Liam felt a lightness, an almost giddy feeling in his gut. He grabbed his coat and practically ran out the door of his stuffy apartment.

Outside, the city seemed transformed, the gray sky vibrant. He bought a sketchbook and several new pens, eager to begin. The concrete beneath his feet vibrated, as if connected to an electrical source. He started walking, his pace quickening, his mind exploding with new concepts. He felt an intense need to create, to share, to…exist.
