Gemotions

The shattering of glass next door jolted Eleanor upright. She was usually annoyed by such sounds. Today, however, it seemed to crack something open inside of her, too.

She tossed off the covers. She felt a lightness, a sense of… purpose. She threw on some jeans and grabbed her gardening shears. Her garden was a mess. But today, it was a battleground. She began to attack it with gusto.

She hacked and weeded and trimmed, a whirlwind of activity, the sun burning down on her. She felt alive, invigorated by the struggle.
