The brisk wind whipped at David's clothes as he jogged through the park. Each breath filled his lungs with purpose. The job, a project manager role, was the culmination of everything he'd been working towards. He knew his friend, Ethan, had also applied, but that didn't matter. He was prepared.

His strides became longer, his pace quicker, as if chasing an invisible goal. The trees seemed to cheer him on. He focused on the future, visualizing the office, seeing himself in the role, taking charge. By the time he reached his apartment, a healthy flush colored his cheeks and a wide smile was playing across his lips.
