Gemotions

The first thing that hit Leo was the scent of freshly cut grass. He took a deep, deep breath, savoring it. The metallic tang of his car’s rust bucket was usually the dominant smell in the air. Then, he noticed the absence of the car. He let out a whoop, a sound of pure joy that startled a flock of pigeons. He had been feeling so stuck. Now, there were no obligations, no destinations, only the promise of discovering whatever he wanted. He grabbed his worn backpack and started whistling a merry jig.
