The banner headline on the newspaper – "End of an Era: Antonio's to Close" – caught Leo’s eye. The world around him seemed to sharpen, to vibrate with possibilities. Instead of a sense of loss, a strange alertness, a sense of opportunity, blossomed within.

He slammed the paper down. His heart was racing. He was getting out of here. He reached for his keys, anticipation causing his fingers to tingle.

He drove to Antonio's. The familiar streets took on a new dimension, as though he was witnessing them for the first time. He spotted the restaurant and strode inside, eyes twinkling. "Make it the best meal you've ever served me!" he exclaimed to the waiter.
